OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of death by cancer in the United States and a major health problem in the VA that affects more than 4,000 Veterans throughout the nation each year. The Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to fighting this disease by sponsoring a research trial that will change how the VA and medical community screen patients for colorectal cancer. The OKC VAMC has established a Call Center for Veterans with issues related to being impacted by the tornadoes. The call center is being staffed by a physician, nurse, social worker and pharmacist.
