About the Program

The Infectious Diseases (ID) section provides support to veterans requiring care for complicated conditions caused by infectious agents (viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic). Three full-time physicians, all O.U. College of Medicine faculty, provide inpatient and outpatient evaluations and care. They are assisted by an Infectious Diseases Phar.D., a Nurse Practitioner, Fellows in Infectious Diseases, and Residents in Internal Medicine. Their other roles include direction of the Medical Service, oversight of the outpatient Diagnostic Center, guidance of Infection Control programs, and periodic supervision of Internal Medicine inpatient teams.
