Our Commitment to Our Veterans
A message from Wade Vlosich, Health Care System Director.
Today the VA Office of Inspector General (OIG) released their report on a review of resident and part-time physician attendance at the Oklahoma City VAHCS https://www.va.gov/oig/pubs/vaoig-17-00253-93.pdf
OIG made 13 recommendations in the areas of oversight, regular reviews and recovering any overpayments. The employees involved with oversight issues are no longer employed by VA and the recommendations in this report have allowed us to strengthen our practices. Seven of the recommendations have already been implemented or completed and corrective action plans are in place to complete the remaining six recommendations.
How can you help? We want to hear from you, whether you had a great experience at one of our facilities or you want to provide feedback on how we can better serve you. Our team of patient advocates are available as a resource to you. You can visit them in Room 1B107 at our main facility or by calling (405) 456-1788. During non-business hours, you can visit our Medical Administration Officer at the front desk in the Emergency Room or call (405) 456-5412 for assistance.
Just as I said last week, it is my commitment that we will continue to improve and advance the care we provide because our Veterans deserve the best. Thank you for your service.
Wade Vlosich
Health Care System Director
