Getting a flu shot this fall is more important than ever! Reduce your risk of flu and help prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed by patients with the flu or coronavirus, as both can have a serious impact on Veterans and employees. Anyone can get sick, and flu and COVID-19 can each lead to severe illness, hospitalization and even death.

Ways to Get Your Flu Shot

Veterans with an appointment

For Veterans with an appointment at the Oklahoma City VA medical center or our VA Community Clinics, the flu vaccine is now available at any pre-scheduled appointment.

VA Community Care Network

You can also receive the flu vaccine at a participating VA Community Care pharmacy provider.

To locate an in-network retail pharmacy:

  1. Visit https://www.va.gov/find-locations
  2. Enter your ZIP code
  3. Under Facility Type select "Community pharmacies (in VA’s network)"
  4. Call ahead to confirm the pharmacy services and hours.

 

No appointment or VA referral is required. Veterans need to present a valid government issued identification (e.g. Veterans Health ID Card, Department of Defense ID card, state issued driver's license or ID card, etc.).

Leave us a message with your full name, last four of your SSN, as well as the date and location of where you received your flu shot.***

Veterans without an appointment

For Veterans without an appointment, we are offering drive-up flu vaccines at our Main Campus on the following dates & times:

  • September 28th - November 6th, 2020
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm
  • Please enter through the Southeast Garage Entrance off NE 13th Street

Wear short sleeves so that the health care professional giving you the shot can easily access your upper arm.
