Oklahoma City VAMC has received a number of accreditations and awards. Some of our recent notable accomplishments include —

Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (2008-2011)

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization governed by a board that includes physicians, nurses, and consumers. The Joint Commission sets the standards by which health care quality is measured in America and around the world.

American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics

OKC VAMC received the Certification for Prosthetics in 2004.  "The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) sets the highest standards for quality orthotics and prosthetics care through stringent education requirements, supervised experience in a residency program, rigorous written and clinical certification examination, mandatory continuing professional education, registration for assistants, technicians and fitters, a comprehensive facility accreditation program, an ethics and professional discipline program." College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation

In 2008, the OKC VAMC Orthotic and Prosthetic Lab received this accreditation from the American Board for Certification. Accreditation is for a period of three years.

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilitates (CARF)

In 2007, the OKC VAMC received the CARF accreditation for Employee and Community Standards and Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehab. Program. CARF is an "independent, nonprofit organization. Their focus is on ensuring the services you use meet your needs for quality and the best possible outcomes. CARF reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally on request of a facility or program. Our standards are rigorous, so those services that meet them are among the best available." (CARF)
